SUMMARY:What I have Learned along UVA HR's Transformation Journey
DESCRIPTION:Balancing its historical legacy while embracing a radical HR transformation\, the University of Virginia is positioning itself for its 3rd century and the workforce of the future. The setting is this: 3 distinct cultures within academia and healthcare with over 22\,000 employees\, as many students\, 300+ HR processes\, 280 HR employees spread throughout 85 HR units using 72+ HR systems (including 6 learning management systems). Add to this mix the turnover among three of four senior-most leaders whereas HR leadership comprises 4 "newbies" and 2 "veterans."\n\nIn this setting\, UVA HR's leaders had to align culture\, create and staff a new organizational structure\, and implement a new cloud-based technology that would dramatically recreate the employment experience. And develop a brand new mission\, vision\, set of values\, strategy\, branding\, messaging   and build a new website!\n\nMichael will discuss the challenges faced and the strategies employed to navigate the transformation:\n\n?
