Joe Lizer and his son\, Ben\, are the 3rd and 4th generations to own and operate this local landmark. \n\n \n\nJoe's parents\, Ed and Hilda\, initially offered produce from the family's large garden. They started operations from a roadside truck\, but soon opened up their original 8 10 building with stepped shelves in the front for displaying their produce. \n\n \n\nToday\, our "Big Red Barn" is located closer to Winchester. Our casual\, open-air market has easy access from the highway and ample free parking! We encourage you to visit the childrens' playground area or use our picnic pavilion. We also provide clean restrooms and a dog walk area. Tour buses are always welcome.\n\n \n\nThe Virginia Farm Market believes in giving back to our community and regularly donates to the area's schools\, police\, firefighters\, scouts and other charitable groups.
