SUMMARY:Valley Business Women Luncheon 3/16/16
DESCRIPTION:Guest Speaker: Elsie L. Rose \n\n Commerical Business Development Officer \n\n Union Bank & Trust\n\n\n\n "The High Cost of Being Born Female"\n\n\n\nThe good news: There has never been a better time for women. We are earning more. We are graduating from college at higher rates than our male counterparts. We are living longer. Yet\, our pay is 79% of men's pay. Since women graduate at higher rates\, women also graduate with more debt than men\, and because women live longer we have a greater chance of falling into a lower standard of living at some point in our retirement. Some of us may face poverty. Fortunately\, women who plan and women who are open to being educated in finance ca\n\nn likely live a comfortable retirement lifestyle. Knowing where we are falling behind\, what challenges we face and how we can compensate and make better financial decisions will ensure a better future for us and for our children. \n\nElsie Rose is a CPA who spent 35 years in Public Accounting providing audit and accounting services to a variety of organizations. Elsie continues to build on her long-term client and community relationships in her role as a Commercial Business Development Officer at Union Bank. She is an advocate for promoting the importance of financial literacy and wellness and is a frequent presenter on numerous topics to many audiences. She is passionate about improving the lives of women and children in the Commonwealth of Virginia.\n\n\n\nMenu: Salmon and quinoa salad\n\nSpecial meal requests due to dietary restrictions will gladly be accepted if made a minimum of 48 hours in advance of the event.\n\n\n\nVBW is presented by Mover Dudes and Union Bank & Trust
