DESCRIPTION:Join us as we celebrate the new makerspace at Winchester's Museum of the Shenandoah Valley (MSV)!\n\n\n\nA makerspace is a community center that engages children\, families\, and adults in STEAM (Science\, Technology\, Engineering\, Art\, and Math) through innovative\, hands-on learning experiences.\n\n\n\nLocated on the first floor of the Museum\, and much more than a make-and-take activity center\, the MSV Makerspace will provide Shenandoah Valley residents a chance to apply problem-solving skills\, test\, and revise their ideas\, experiment\, collaborate\, and have fun.\n\n\n\nThe new makerspace includes electric wheels for throwing pottery\, a kiln for firing ceramics\, robotics kits\, and a 3D printer.\n\n\n\nOpening to the public on Sunday\, September 11\, the MSV Makerspace will be open on Tuesdays from 4 to 7:30 p.m. and Sundays from noon to 6 p.m. Admission is $10 per adult and $5 per child (up to age 18).\n\n\n\nA regional cultural center and the largest green space in the City of Winchester\, the MSV is anchored by a 50\,000-square-foot museum with galleries\, a reception hall\, store\, and the new makerspace.  The site also includes the Glen Burnie House and seven acres of formal gardens. Additional details are available online at www.theMSV.org.
