DESCRIPTION:Get into the holiday spirit by visiting Historic Berryville and enjoy a self-guided tour of three private homes\, Historic Rosemont Manor and the Historic Berryville Baptist Church all beautifully decorated for the holidays. Berryville Baptist Church will have a special presentation of Nativity's presented by their parishioners in their fellowship hall. Homes include: 1 Wheeler Lane: a Colonial Revival style home with functioning shutters and a former widow's walk on the roof\; 203 S. Buckmarsh: a Greek Revival home with beautiful white columns built in 1910\; Rosemont Manor: built in 1811\, home to Senator Harry F. Byrd\, Sr. in 1929 and the site of the Battle of Berryville during the Civil War\; Waypoint House on S. Church Street built in 1884 for Miss Nannie McGuire who never married but was a pillar of Berryville\; and Berryville Baptist Church was built in 1884 after the first church built on the property was destroyed during the great War Between the States. It is local legend that the church was used as a stable for the horses of soldiers.
